Service & Maintenance

In short, IPH Fire Solutions can provide a competitive quote for servicing and maintaning  a large catalogue of fire suppression systems

Is your Fire System in need of a service?

Every Fire Suppression system installed within the UK must be serviced and maintained in accordance with BSEN:15004 and the associated manufacturer’s guidelines.

Failure to comply with this standard not only leads to invalidated insurance policies, but more importantly can reduce the effectiveness of your system.

Fire Suppression Systems require servicing every 6 months.

A Fire Suppression System Service is usually made up of 3 key aspects:

1 – Fire Suppression System Service – Electrical

2 – Fire Suppression System Service – Mechanical

3 – Annual Room Integrity Test

IPH have experience servicing many types of systems across varied applications:

1 – Electrical Service & Maintenance

The electrical element of Fire Suppression service and maintenance includes testing of the following devices and procedures:

  • Smoke/Heat/Flame Detectors
  • Manual Call Points / Break Glass Units
  • Manual Release Devices
  • Sounders / Beacons
  • Control Panels
  • Remote Indication Units
  • Output / Input Relays
  • Connections to 3rd Party Systems
  • Operation of Discharge Actuator

Successfully testing and servicing the above elements of a fire suppression system helps to maintain system integrity and offers peace of mind that your system will operate correctly in the event of a live situation.

2 – Mechanical Service & Maintenance

Once the electrical side of a fire suppression system service is successfully completed; the mechanical side of the system requires a similar level of scrutiny to ensure correct ‘live situation’ response.

Included within our general mechanical fire suppression service and maintenance costs are the following:

  • Pipework Inspection, Joint Tightening and Other Minor Adjustments
  • Cylinder Integrity Inspection
  • Agent Quantity Evaluation
  • Liquid Level Testing (if applicable)
  • Service Exchange Date Logging
  • Discharge Actuator Testing
  • Discharge Pressure and Extinguishant Release Fault Test

3 – Room Integrity Testing

In accordance with British Standards, it is essential that a ‘boundary penetration test’ or ‘room integrity test’ is carried out once per annum.

This ‘room integrity test’ is essential to ensure that the enclosure containing the fire suppression system remains ‘sealed’ to a level capable of holding the agent (extinguishant gas) within the desired area for the required period.

IPH Fire Solutions are an approved service provider of many Fire Suppression systems. We deliver all of the above maintenance services ‘in house’, this means our work is fully guaranteed and highly competitive.
